What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Fixed Income & Repo Capital Markets Technology team. Our team is relationship-oriented and needs talented and motivated professionals who are dedicated to doing what’s right for our business partners. Acting as both a Repo technology & Repo business subject matter expert, you’ll deliver value by understanding the needs of the Capital Markets Repo Desk and designing technical solutions that provide high business benefit. You’ll have a solid understanding of industry practices and business processes in various geographic regions. You’ll creatively resolve ambiguous challenges, work with various resources throughout the organization (technology and business) and use strong analytical and inductive thinking to arrive at solutions and decisions.
How You'll Succeed
Product Knowledge: Have a high-level understanding of Fixed Income and Repo instruments, the entire trade lifecycle and the Canadian, US & European repo market.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with business stakeholders from across the bank to determine requirements and establish business process changes. Have experience working with internal team members to identify risks, constraints, dependencies and collaboratively brainstorm solution designs for implementation.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skillset: Have the ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking to extract meaning and implication from data sets. Apply problem-solving skills and creative thinking to tackle various issues encountered throughout project deliveries.
Leadership Skills: Are effective at leading meetings and presenting to senior-level stakeholders. Have the ability to analyze complex situations and problems and create an action plan.
Who You Are
You have a minimum of 5+ years working as a Business Analyst or Business System Consultant in Capital Markets or a comparable financial domain. It's an asset if you have CBAP. You have experience working with Apex SF and Finance Professional (Finpro) trading applications and have a great understanding of the SDLC process. You have experience working on large-scale projects, managing a large number of stakeholders and mapping out business process flows. You're experienced with SQL, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, JIRA, and Confluence.
You're a great relationship builder. You have a proven track record for building trust & rapport with stakeholders. You can easily handle complex situations with your master communication and interpersonal skills. You can easily influence and persuade others to ensure that project deliverables are done on time and efficiently.
You have excellent critical thinking skills. You excel at problem solving and data analysis. You have the ability to think creatively but are also detail-oriented.
You're highly organized. You have the ability to work on multiple initiatives and stay organized and focused. You can create a good project plan and stay on track.
You're a positive go-getter. You're positive, inquisitive, self-motivated and take initiative.
You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
