We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tax Planning (Corporate/Commercial) with over five years of experience in various legal domains to join our team. Book of business not required, but must have strong skills, aptitude, and work ethic.
Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and services in areas including commercial and corporate law, contract law, construction law, wills and estates, conveyancing, and immigration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drafting legal documents, managing commercial transactions, and offering general legal advice.
Key Responsibilities:
Advising on the structuring of corporate/commercial transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestures, and reorganizations.
Providing advice to small business owners on their corporate and personal tax planning matters including estate planning, succession planning, and income splitting techniques.
Advising on the structuring and creation of mutual fund trusts and partnerships.
Qualifications:
A degree in law (LLB or JD) from an accredited institution.
Member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
Minimum 5 years of experience with Tax Planning.
Commitment to market yourself and the firm through various networking opportunities.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
Completion of In-depth Tax Course or LLM in tax.
Strong technical skills in Tax planning Advisory experience.
