Role Overview As a Behavior Technician, you will support classroom teachers by working with special education students, both individually and in small groups, to enhance their academic and behavioral experiences. Your role will be instrumental in helping these students grow and succeed. Competitive hourly rate of $21-$24, paid weekly (Potential to earn more per hour based on experience) Consistent Monday to Friday schedule No weekend work required Typical hours - 8am to 2:30/3pm, for a total of 30-35 hours per week Working with grades K-12, within your preference Key Responsibilities In this role, you'll support students with various disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, severe emotional and behavioral disorders, and multiple disabilities. Common behaviors include aggression, self-injurious actions, noncompliance, elopement, repetitive behaviors, and sensory sensitivities. Implement and manage Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), Positive Behavior Support (PBS), provide positive reinforcement, and use de-escalation techniques as necessary. Provide personalized support to special education students, tailoring materials and strategies to their unique learning and behavioral needs. Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviors, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and encouraging student participation. Record and maintain detailed data on student progress, behaviors, and interventions to support the special education team. Build and maintain effective communication with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure cohesive and consistent support for students. Required Qualifications/Experience High School Diploma Previous experience working with children Experience with special education, particularly with moderate to severe behaviors Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations Familiarity with supporting individuals with hygiene and healthcare-related services English proficiency Preferred Bachelor's Degree Certification in CPR and First Aid CPI and/or ABA Experience Join Zen Educate and discover a better way to find your perfect role in education Ref: INDUS-SD
