Content Writer

Lock Search Group is excited to represent our client, a prominent association in the pharmaceutical industry, in their search for a Content Writer.


The Content Writer will create and develop communication materials in alignment with strategic priorities. This role involves producing articles, blog posts, memos, newsletters, media releases, speeches, and various other communications assets. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Communications, the Content Writer also advises on best practices and provides expertise across communication functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Communications team to support strategies that enhance brand recognition and convey the value of the pharmaceutical industry in Canada
  • Create, edit, and refine compelling, clear, and cohesive content for diverse platforms
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of key messages, media releases, Q&A documents, speeches, and other necessary communication pieces
  • Ensure public messaging is crafted with consideration of tone and external sensitivities
  • Develop content calendars, editorial plans, and style guides to streamline content creation and maintain consistency
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure cohesive external messaging for events, webinars, and speaking engagements
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Senior Director, Communications


Qualifications

  • University Degree is required, preferably in journalism or a related field
  • At least five (5) years of progressive experience in writing or content strategy
  • Background in journalism or agency work is preferred
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
  • High level of diplomacy, judgment, and leadership capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations
  • Familiarity with major style guides (e.g., APA, MLA)
  • Knowledge of the Canadian healthcare landscape is an asset
  • French language skills are a strong asset
