Job Description

Our client, a law firm in Framingham, MA, is seeking an administrative assistant to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and is compensating up to $31/hr. depending on experience. There is free parking available on site. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience in a legal environment, but those with strong administrative skills will be considered as well. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers telephone calls and takes messages in a positive friendly manner.
  • Operates a computer and associated software efficiently.
  • Receives deliveries and visitors; distributes mail as necessary; maintains good public relations; observes confidentiality.
  • Prepares shipping labels and packages and tracks delivery.
  • Performs typing, photocopying, and scanning; proofreads documents; enters time for some attorneys in a timely manner.
  • Prepares letters and other legal documents from written and oral drafts; proofreads and makes corrections.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to read and write to proof and perform minor editing (e.g., punctuation, grammar, spelling, formatting).
  • Ability to learn software and follow established protocols, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and ask for guidance when necessary.
  • Interpersonal skills and professionalism necessary to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Work occasionally under pressure of deadlines while producing accurate work products.
  • Proficient in using Office365, Outlook, Excel.
