Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Designer with experience in the oil and gas industry. The role involves designing, updating, and retrofitting electrical systems for refinery projects. The designer will collaborate with onsite engineers to execute both capital and maintenance projects, ensuring designs meet industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and retrofit electrical systems for projects with power requirements greater than 120V, based on engineering walkdowns and project scopes.
  • Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Blue Cielo/Meridian, and SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) to manage and update project drawings.
  • Update Area Classification drawings based on subject matter expert (SME) redlines and field verification.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, such as instrumentation and piping, to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Work on both capital project packages (IFA, IFC, As-Builts) and maintenance work, submitting estimates and securing necessary approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with Refining Engineering Practices (REPs) and relevant industry codes and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Blue Cielo/Meridian, and SPI.
  • Experience working with electrical systems in refining or industrial engineering projects.
  • Experience creating single-line diagrams, working industrial motor schematics, and utilizing area classifications.
  • Ability to work onsite 40 hours per week and meet safety and security standards.
  • Meet all site entry requirements, including holding a valid TWIC card, and adhere to safety protocols for refinery access.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with engineers and project teams.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with field walkdowns as needed.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of electrical design for both new and existing refinery projects.
