Position Summary
The Senior Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing parts, while working closely with engineering and design teams. This position involves both strategic planning and tactical purchasing, requiring the Senior Buyer to manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery. There is also potential for this individual to build and lead a team as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Supplier Management : Research and select products, negotiate pricing, and build relationships with suppliers.
- Collaboration : Work with internal departments, including engineering and quality assurance, to meet production needs.
- Order Management : Process requisitions, track orders, ensure stock levels, and update inventory.
- Performance Monitoring : Assess supplier performance, track deliveries, and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Demand Management : Adjust orders to meet demand fluctuations, expedite as needed to prevent delays.
Qualifications
- Experience : At least five years in procurement/planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Skills : Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Technical Proficiency : Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and an ERP system. Familiarity with tools like PTC Arena/Onshape, Fishbowl, or Retool is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge : Experience in automotive, medical device, or electronics purchasing is ideal.
