School Psychologist

Location: Vacaville, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time - Local and Travel Contracts


The School Psychologist will play a vital role in promoting the academic, emotional, and social development of students within the school community. This position involves collaborating with educators, parents, and mental health professionals to create a supportive learning environment and address students' diverse needs.


Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students’ cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.

- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and interventions tailored to students’ needs.

- Provide counseling and support to students facing academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges.

- Collaborate with teachers and staff to design and implement effective classroom strategies and interventions.

- Participate in crisis intervention and management efforts, providing support during emergencies.

- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for parents, teachers, and staff on mental health and educational strategies.

- Serve as a consultant to educators on best practices for promoting student well-being and academic success.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and programs.

- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with federal and state regulations.

- Stay current with developments in school psychology, mental health, and education policies.


Qualifications:

- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.

- Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential in School Psychology.

- Knowledge of federal and state laws related to special education and student rights.

- Strong assessment skills, including knowledge of psychoeducational testing.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.

- Experience in crisis intervention and behavioral management.

- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.


Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in a school setting.

- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages) are a plus.

- Familiarity with evidence-based interventions and programs.
