Design Patterns

Job Description:

Lead a team of Developers in building out the Application development Platform which is composed of Java Developers.

Collaborate with Development Teams and Identify the patterns and strategies that the Platform team should take on and prioritize them in alignment with business needs

Define strategic direction and develop tactical plans Work with application and infrastructure teams to provision platform components

Occasionally you may be asked to augment critical projects through direct involvement and hands-on contributions such as prototyping and developing critical modules

As needed work through all aspects of solutioning from requirements design and build through deployment and evolution.

Translate business requirements into working foundational components for platform thus ensuring functional and nonfunctional aspects are met

Effectively identify opportunities for change implements change and introduce new concepts, procedures, policies and tools while providing a clear explanation of benefits and purpose

Work with business stakeholders’ cross functional teams and lead by example to other application development groups.

Java stack Spring Boot

Full stack solution design and implementation

Designing and implementing high performance enterprise scale distributed systems

Distributed Caching patterns

Strong grasp of Integration patterns Endpoint Messaging Streaming Callbacks etc. and the tradeoffs associated with each approach

API Platform Engineering fundamentals including but not limited to Open API spec API Gateways OAuth integration

Profiling and performance optimization threading memory management JVM optimization etc.

Experience building and implementing solutions for Containerized environments ideally OnPrem Cloud

Designing and building Low Latency applications.

API Gateways

Microservices architecture including defining application boundaries Services Mesh

Modern DevOps practices including CICD Observability Containerization

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience on any of the public Clouds ideally AWS

Industry knowledge Financial Industry Capital Markets Wealth Management background preferred
