Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Lincoln, NE. The Project Engineer is responsible for engineering and design-related duties as well as planning, coordination, and implementation of the project throughout all phases of the design, drafting, purchase, fabrication, installation and troubleshooting of industrial water tube boiler systems and heat recovery steam generators (HRSG).

Essential functions:
- Technical lead for assigned projects. Using customer’s input and initial design information from the sales department, completes the system design and provide design output to Submittal drafting group. Approve Process flow diagrams, Heat and Mass flow diagrams, Process and Instrument Diagrams.
- Prepares the project BOM identifying components of the unit.
- Reviews the project drawings for good Engineering practices, company standards and compliance to customer contract specifications.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving of engineering design and system integration issues.
- Directs integration of technical activities and products.
- Evaluates design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
- Write purchase specification timely for Boiler auxiliary equipment, valves and trim items. Checks the quality of sub-vendor purchased components as well as CB produced components, delivered to the project.
- Assists the client with erection of the equipment by giving proper instructions.
- Assists CB Technical Services department during the start-up and commissioning by supplying them the proper information.
- Acts as the point of contact for the client’s engineers for all technical issues.
- Maintains a project schedule that is visible for the others within the company. This schedule has the necessary milestones to identify major phases in the project and covers all in-house disciplines.
- Assists in controlling expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- As directed by the Project Engineering Manager, contributes to the continuous education program of the project group.
- Must have ability to travel domestically and internationally – generally by air and ability to handle luggage and attaché cases, etc., normal business travel of varying length duration.

Basic Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required, Mechanical Engineering preferred or related field.
Experience:
- 0 - 3 years in Mechanical Engineering, boiler and/or HRSG & Project Engineering or related field preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic working knowledge of Water Tube Boiler Systems and/or HRSG’s, from design through fabrication, installation and trouble-shooting
- Good working knowledge of “Balance of Plant” equipment including fans, pumps, valves, deaerators, and allow materials used in high temperature systems; and good working knowledge of A.S.M.E. Section 1 Code.
- Comprehensive understanding of Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer
- Be able to use Microsoft Office software, Inventor and AutoCAD design tools.
- Have strong communication and organizational skills preferred.
