Description of Duties:
- Reviews POAs, authorized representative forms, HIPAA authorizations and other purported representative documents for sufficiency. 25% of total work effort
- Prepare motions and other preliminary legal filings in preparation for hearings and gather
- information to comply with discovery requests from opposing counsel or appellants. 25% of total work effort
- Research laws, rules, and policies pertaining to TennCare Medicaid, prepare Notices of Hearing, and collaborate with Appeal Litigation Specialists to create information packets as evidence for hearings. 25% of total work effort
- Litigate appeals through administrative hearing process, conduct necessary legal research to assist in identifying cases ripe for appeal and draft appropriate appellate documents and pleadings. 25% of total work effort
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Juris Doctor from an accredited college or university
- Active License to practice law in
- Ability to foster and maintain cohesive working relationships
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Excellent organizational skills necessary, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage
- workload to meet specific timeframes and deadlines
- Excellent writing and communication skills required
- Ability to interpret and execute public policy
- Ability to interface with multiple computer systems and applications
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience with Administrative Procedures a plus
- Previous litigation experience a plus
