I am the medical director at Memorial Health University Medical Center, in charming Savannah, Georgia. Memorial Health UMC offers several residency programs, including an internal medicine program; thus, many hospitalists on our team have completed their residency here. All our physicians are dedicated and motivated to provide the best standard of care to the people of Southeast Georgia and its multiple surrounding counties. People
- Our team comprises 30 physicians and 7 advanced practice providers (APPs), including a dedicated nocturnal team.
- We are supported by Sound s own clinical performance nurses, program managers, and coordinators.
- Our clinicians bring diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
- We have a team-oriented approach with other hospital department leaders and managers who are eager to offer help to assist in our practice.
- We value providers who are team players and are comfortable leading a treatment team for each patient.
Practice
- Memorial Health University Medical Center is an established tertiary care hospital that receives transfers from all surrounding counties and across state lines.
- We have day and swing admitters, as well as dedicated nocturnists.
- There is a resident-led MET/RRT team, and hospital medicine does not respond to codes.
- The hospital has a closed ICU with a separate intensivist group. We do not require procedures however, we are welcome to maintain privileges.
- We're looking for board-certified/eligible internal medicine and family medicine candidates.
- Our EMR is Epic, and we have access to our internal informatics platform.
- Compensation ranges from $1625 (day) to $1850 (night) per shift and $400 moonlighting for extra shifts above the threshold. We also offer quality and productivity incentives.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long and short-term disability, 401k, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, annual CME allowance, and Path to Partnership .
- We work collaboratively within our team to ensure coverage for time off.
- Chief residents are encouraged to apply for Sound s Compass Program, our leadership track for residents, which includes a monthly stipend during the last year of residency.
