Sentara is hiring a Customer Service Representative for the Clinical Access Centralized Scheduling Department.

Position Status : Full-time, Day Shift

Standard Working Hours : Monday - Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Position Location: After 8-9 weeks, this position will transition to Remote work. Sentara will provide the equipment. High-speed internet is required.

REQUIRED TO TRAVEL to the following locations for ONSITE orientation/training for the first 8-9 weeks. After successful completion of orientation, this opportunity will be REMOTE.

  • Martha Jefferson PJP 5 - 590 Peter Jefferson Parkway, 3rd floor, Charlottesville, VA

  • RMH Vascular Surgery - 2006 Health Campus Drive, 2nd floor, Harrisonburg, VA

  • RMH Atrium - 2000 Beery Road, Harrisonburg, VA

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Two years of Customer Service experience. Experience with medical insurance in a hospital or physician's office setting preferred

  • High Volume call center experience preferred

  • Epic EMR experience preferred

  • Data entry skills

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for handling incoming calls to effectively address eligibility, claim, and payment issues or to address and perform patient scheduling and referral work.

  • Provide quality service and customer satisfaction through effective communication and education.

  • Responsible for all areas of customer service as it pertains to research and resolution of telephone inquiries.

  • Schedules a high volume of procedures for patients in a computerized scheduling system.

  • Accountable for accurately and completely obtaining required information in the scheduling process, ensuring the correct patient and procedure requested, has been scheduled.

  • Responsible for order entry process, communications, guest relations, medical record maintenance/analysis, and various clerical duties within scope of role.
