What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the Technology Currency Modernization Team (TCM) as part of the Technology Operation Services group in Technology Operations. Our purpose is to mitigate technology risk by engaging with technology partners to remediate aging infrastructure (hardware & software). In line with being ‘current’ with the direction of technology, the TCM Team also helps fund and promote the modernization of applications to the cloud. In this role, you will be partnering with various infrastructure and application teams to help plan, govern and report on the orchestration of compute, network, storage, middleware, and database upgrade projects across the enterprise.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.
How You’ll Succeed
Planning & Governance: Proactively contribute to TCM governance activities including end of life remediation planning, data governance, risk metric validation, initiative prioritization, delivery reviews, and process improvement.
Communication: As a strong communicator you will facilitate currency-centric dialogues with various audiences throughout technology and also provide technical or business guidance to technology partners within and outside your own department.
Reporting: You are accountable for associating project delivery progress with risk-reduction benefits and for quantifying the contribution of project progress towards reducing the legacy technology footprint. You have the ability to create executive level summaries at a program status and individual project level.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate 8-10+ years’ IT experience in application support, or infrastructure support, or business analysis and have a solid understanding of infrastructure technology including databases, servers, networks, etc. It is an asset if you have an understanding of Azure or Cloud.
You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of asset inventory information.
Your influence makes an impact. You can demonstrate excellent leadership and relationship building skills working with various technology teams including application development, engineering, project delivery, and compliance.
