The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment & Employee Experience, the Consultant, Recruitment & Retention is the subject matter expert on the sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and hiring practices and policies at the IWK. As the subject matter expert, they lead and support their designated clients through the full cycle recruitment process, ensuring compliance with the appropriate collective agreements, human rights legislation, and organizational policies, including employment equity, at each stage. The Consultant, Recruitment & Retention works in collaboration with their clients to forecast their short and long-term staffing needs and develops strategies to meet those goals, including but not limited to, networking with potential candidates including social media platforms, networking events, job fairs, and building partnerships with educational institutions.
Hours of Work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm or 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; 75 hours bi-weekly. (Remote position, however, flexibility required to meet on-site).
Your Qualifications • Graduate of post-secondary degree and/or Certificate Program in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resource Management experience, with a concentration in recruitment and workforce planning in a complex multi-union environment.
• Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is considered an asset.
• Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred, or willing to pursue these or related, appropriate designations.
• Membership in local and/or Human Resources Associations and other relevant organizations preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements, employment guides, and relevant legislation, Immigration and Labour legislation, visa requirements, Human Rights Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPOP), and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Good understanding of recruitment and workforce planning practices.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent consultative, influencing, and mentoring skills.
• Effective work practice - accountable, dependable, flexible, persevering, sets goals and meets deadlines, results-oriented.
• Effective research and analytical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of adult education and learning principles.
• Knowledge of Health Care issues and Human Resources trends.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams), MS Edge, MS Outlook, and human resources information systems (preferably SAP and SuccessFactors).
