Schedule: 36 Hours (8-12 hr shifts), Day/Evening rotation. Every other weekend and holiday rotation. BWFH 6 North is a 36 private bed general medicine/telemetry, progressive care unit. Services are provided to adults and older adults with complex medical and psychosocial conditions. Some of the medical conditions reflect acute and chronic care diagnosis such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Diabetes, Pneumonia, and other clinical conditions. The unit has a complete array of monitoring systems, such as telemetry and patient and staff safety devices/equipment such as bed/chair alarms, and patient transfer equipment. Integrated within the medical unit are eight beds designated for addiction recovery. The Addiction Recovery Program (ARP) services adults seeking voluntary detoxification admission for alcohol and opiate misuse. Under the direction of the nursing leadership team; care is provided by direct-care nurses, and in collaboration with medical providers, including mid-level practitioners (NP/PA). Description The Staff Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department’s Clinical Practice Manual. Demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. Ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager, or supervisor. Assures the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.
