The Production Operator will take a hands-on role in the production and warehousing of Poly-ISO insulation by performing a variety of tasks to maintain the proper flow of materials through the production process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Moving materials using a forklift
- Operate production equipment and packaging equipment
- Follow production schedules, job instructions, quality standards, specifications, and procedures
- Detect and/or correct and report faulty operations or defective materials
- Calculate output: square feet, sheet length, linear feet, units, etc
- Measuring, cutting, and gluing materials
- Ensure safe equipment operation and personal safety compliance
- Maintain good housekeeping and workplace organization (5S/Lean Manufacturing)
- Other production responsibilities as needed and assigned
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: - Ability to operator a forklift
- Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Skills in using power and hand tools such as chop saw, table saw, band saw
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Ability to follow instructions and read production orders
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Ability to read measuring gauges such as a tape measure and calipers

Education and Experience: - Forklift experience preferred
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic computer experience a plus
Equipment Used: - Use forklift, saws, pallet jacks, hand tools, bar code equipment and other production equipment
Working Conditions: - Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing facility. Job includes but are not limited to exposure to the following:
- Temperatures exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures.
- Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points
- Noise of industrial machinery
- Fast paced 24/5 operation (will likely transition to 24/7)
- Hours Worked - starting at 8 hour shifts, will likely transition to 12 hour shifts based on demand, pre-shift work, etc.
- Days of Week Worked - typically 5 days per week, depending on demand/covering as needed, will likely transition to 4 x 12 hour days
- Shifts Worked - set shift hired to work, but may need to transition to other shifts if/when 12 hour transition occurs
- Follow and utilize the Carlisle Operating System containing 5S, continuous improvement, waste reduction, standard work, and problem solving.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to grasp, push, pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, reach above shoulders, bend, and twist
