Maine Health Cancer Care is seeking an Oral Oncology Nurse Navigator to join their team. This opportunity allows the nurse to join a highly collaborative, patient-centered, fun group. Day-to-day duties include partnering with Oral Oncology Pharmacists and the multidisciplinary Oncology Care Team on patient questions; conducting new patient introductory calls; conducting follow-up calls/triaging questions; ensuring a smooth prior authorization process; and following up with Medication Access for patient support. The selected candidate must be available to train on site in Southern Maine. Once onboarded, this will be a hybrid position. For this position, we are specifically seeking candidates who have prior medical oncology, surgical oncology or oncology infusion experience.

Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Patient Navigator - MHMG MMCP role guides patients through the care continuum, establishing contact with recurrent and newly diagnosed cancer patients and/or family members, or caregivers. The Patient Navigator will understand the clinical pathways established by the Oncology Program and will direct the patients to health care services within the organization, at outside facilities, and within the community for timely diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required or must complete BSN within three years of start date. 2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Oncology certification or defined process for achieving certification required. 3. Experience: Experience working with oncology patients and families preferred. Experience in community outreach preferred. 4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A 5.
