As a CDL Pick-Up Driver for Spee-Dee Delivery, you would be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels on an established route.
n
Hours and wages:
n
n- Monday-Friday, 12:30PM - completion of route
n- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
n- Starting wage: $23.00-27.00 per hour, based on experience
n- +$1.00 Shift Premium for start times between 12:00pm - 4:59pm
n
n
Duties and Responsibilities:
n
n- Conducts a pre-trip inspection of vehicle before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
n- Turns in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
n- Drives to shippers and load trailer with freight
n- Verifies all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
n- Transfers freight back to the terminal to be unloaded
n- Returns manifests and bills of lading to the office for billing purposes
n- Washes exterior of tractor and equipment
n- Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies

Experience and Qualifications:
n
n- Must possess a valid CDL Class-A driver's license and have a good driving record
n- Must be 21 years of age
n- Ability to drive a manual transmission
n- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
n- Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
n- Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions
n- Ability to pass a DOT physical and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively. Some overhead lifting is required
n- Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to: hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
n- Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc
n- Work environment requires time spent outdoors in changing weather elements as well as in a vehicle and other hazards pertaining to road conditions, vehicle operation and package content
