Sheridan is URGENTLY HIRING for a Press Material Handler on the 3rd shift. No experience necessary.
Schedule: Sunday- Thursday, 11pm-7am. Occasional mandatory overtime.
Starting pay at a minimum of $16.48 an hour. Shift differential of $0.80/hour for 3rd shift. Competitive pay is possible based on experience.

Key Responsibilities: We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Press Material Handler to join our team. This role involves managing printed materials and assisting with the operation of our web printing press, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of warehouse procedures and material handling.
- Material Handling: Stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, count, and rotate items on and off the printing press equipment following standard procedures or under the guidance of a press operator or supervisor.
- Warehouse Knowledge: Apply basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, and storage areas to place or pull paper stock, signatures, and materials as required.
- Equipment Operation: Utilize manual dollies, carts, hand trucks, and hand tools (e.g., hammers, pliers, strapping tools, and stretch wrapping equipment) for material handling tasks. May require knowledge of operating automatic counters and tabulating counts for jobs.
- Documentation: Complete forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
- Quality Control: Inspect printed materials for issues such as smearing or register problems and notify the Pressroom of any discrepancies.
- Bundling and Labeling: Stack, assemble, and band materials into bundles using banding machines and attach identifying tags or labels to materials.
Qualifications: - Experience: Basic experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred, with an understanding of warehouse procedures and material handling.
- Skills: Familiarity with manual handling equipment and tools, ability to complete stock-related documentation accurately.
- Physical Requirements: Capability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and handle manual tasks with precision.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
