Lonza AG is offering an outstanding opportunity to become part of an extraordinary team in our Bend, OR, USA location. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the detailed operation of our manufacturing processes, ensuring that we continue to produce life-changing products.
The Maintenance Technician undergoes a 6-month initial training period. The training is during the day shift, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. After completing the training, the Technician will be assigned to a night shift based on preference and seniority. The night shift options are Sunday to Tuesday, and every other Saturday, or Wednesday to Friday, and every other Saturday from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.
Key responsibilities:- Conduct and/or assist in repairs (corrective maintenance) and preventative maintenance of process equipment, building support systems, utility systems, and laboratory systems.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) strictly.
- Review and provide written feedback on maintenance procedures, forms, and records.
- Revise and review maintenance or other related procedures.
- Provide regulatory and partner audit support.
- Interpret electrical schematics, I/O (Input/Output) wiring and panel drawings, utility, process system/equipment, plumbing, ductwork, and HVAC P&ID's (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Constructively and expertly work well with peers and clients in manufacturing, maintenance, utility plants, analytical labs, and contracted services.
- Demonstrate a high degree of teamwork.
- Participate in On-Call rotations for after-hours facility and manufacturing support and may work outside of established shift hours upon short notice.
- Perform general labor duties as needed and may be required to work in awkward locations.
- Ensure a safe work environment by attending safety training and following LOTO, NFPA 70e, and facility safety policies.
Key requirements:- Equivalent experience to a High School diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) is acceptable.
- Associates degree in maintenance, instrumentation, electronics, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Certificate or training in mechanical technology or related technical field, or strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and competence.
- Candidates must have knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. They should also possess intermediate skills in using power and hand tools in trades like carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Possess a high mathematical understanding, excellent reading skills along with intermediate computer and typing skills.
- Experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment helpful.
