Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity
You will support the development and execution of a strategy to sell Moneris Data Services and products developed by Moneris within a Data Solutions framework to clients across Canada. The Sr. Account Executive selling these services and products will collaborate with their leader, along with Product and Partnership, and Marketing teams to develop a go-to-market strategy for Canada to target both Moneris and non-Moneris customers.
You will work with the National Account Sales team and other partners to develop a pipeline of prospects and the strategy and sales execution plan, including resourcing requirements to capture the same. You will develop and implement plans and strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share goals while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines. An elevated level of diplomacy, persuasive communication and relationship management skills, highly attuned and proven negotiation skills, and a powerful desire to win are critical competencies for this role.
Location: You will be based in our Toronto (ON), Montreal (QC), Calgary (AB) or Sackville (NB) office and will work in a hybrid model.
Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director, Business Development (Data and Emerging Solutions).
Your Moneris Career - What you'll do
Manage a pipeline of prospects with active and regular call reports (through Salesforce)
Develop a go-to-market strategy for products and services developed by Moneris for Canada, working with Moneris Product, Partnership and Marketing teams
Develop a pipeline of prospects, together with the Moneris National sales team, to include both Moneris existing and non-existing merchants
Develop relationships with the main contacts within their portfolio. Be a customer advocate when working with these groups to address customer requests or to deal with escalations.
Develop and support solid internal relationships to help the AEs negotiate deliverables from internal support groups, such as Legal, Operations, Risk and Technology.
Work with the Product and Marketing team to identify additional products, services, and new markets for product investment, including finding potential partner relationships that could be used.
Research, gather, and evaluate market data on new products, services and solutions to bring to market from merchant discussions, partners, trade shows, and competitors.
Work with our teams and partners to provide an onboarding and launch experience for customers and ongoing account management.
Develop compelling proposals to new clients, minimizing low pricing negotiations, contract terms and conditions, and for new VAS Data Services business.
Provide input to Marketing and Product Development on important products or projects needed to close gaps in current product offerings and in current client segments.
This role may require travel within Canada to promote and sell new Data Services solutions and products, including attending retail trade shows and other business development events.
Your Moneris Career - What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field; a Master’s Degree (MBA) is considered an asset
5+ years of strategic sales/account management/business development experience with a history of sales results (Equivalent work experience may be regarded as a substitution)
5+ years of relationship management experience required
Elevated level of initiative-taking with the ability to work independently, with organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of sales reporting, tracking, and strategic selling process
Proficient in Microsoft Windows/MS Office Applications; proficiency in Salesforce considered an asset
Superior communication skills (written, oral, and presentation), interpersonal skills, and networking abilities with all partners at all levels within an organizational hierarchy.
Client-service orientation and relationship management skills, including a demonstrated history of developing successful mid to senior-level client relationships.
Negotiation skills and closing ability.
Nice-to-have...
Previous experience in the payment industry
Previous experience selling Data solutions is considered an asset
Knowledge of merchant acquiring industry, relationship management, and sales would be considered an asset
Business to Business (B2B) Sales Management Experience is an asset
