It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.The EMS, Care & Injury Prevention Coord Program Mgr represents the designated Medical Center/Region at EMS activities, professional meetings, and community activities and also serves as the injury prevention coordinator for the Adult Trauma Center. This position serves as the EMS business development manager for the designated region and pre-hospital care providers, which includes developing and growing business opportunities within the region, engaging EMS agencies to assure strong allegiance to hospitals, and growing opportunities to improve resource management of EMS agencies into and out of the Medical Center.Additionally, this position serves as the clinical coordinator for the Medical Center – sponsored paramedic program, managing and directing all scheduling, follow-up and interactions between clinical sites and the paramedic students under the direction of the Paramedic Program Director.Lastly, under the direction of the Trauma Medical Director and in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager, the position serves as the Injury Prevention Coordinator and provides direction for all injury prevention and educational activities for the Medical Center Adult Trauma Center. This position leads trauma center efforts to develop and maintain an organized, interdisciplinary, public health approach to injury prevention.This position will split time 50/50 between EMS and Injury Prevention responsibilities. Qualifications EducationRequires high school diploma or GED equivalentExperience: Minimum of five (5) years of EMS experience with no current affiliation with area EMS service provider.Licensure, Certification, RegistrationHold a current CT OEMS license as an EMT (or EMT-P).Preferred RequirementsEducationBachelor’s and Master’s Degree in relevant fieldsExperienceAdditional experience in state of Connecticut DPH, OEMS regulatory process and firm understanding of insurance authorization of non-emergent transport.
