Job Description: STUDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR (SB), COLLEGES OF LAW
37.5 hour per work week, available medical, dental, and 403(b) plans

Position Summary:
The Student Services Coordinator (SB) plays a key role in serving and supporting COL's student population. The successful candidate is the "face" of COL in Santa Barbara, the first person students, faculty, and guests see when they visit campus. She or he can make a personal connection with the community and be someone they go to for support.
This position will report to the Assistant Dean of the Onsite JD Program (SB + VTA) and will be heavily involved in planning and executing student activities, assisting students with a variety of needs, communicating with students about school policies and activities., working with students with disability accommodations, and maintaining and producing student records. The position will also require a regular presence at the COL Santa Barbara campus during posted administration and business hours.
Student Services and General Administration
- Perform front-desk and administrative duties at the Santa Barbara Campus, including greeting students, faculty, and guests, and answering the general phone line
- Open and close the campus
- Prepare classrooms for class, rearranging when needed based on the number of students, and making sure the instructors have all that they need for class
- Assist with administration of Santa Barbara student examinations
- Proctor exams; hire and supervise student proctors during exam periods
- With Registrar, facilitate ADA compliance matters at the SB Campus
- Monitor and record student attendance daily; advise those with excess absence notices
- Support the success of international and Veteran students.
- Serve as a liaison to, and monitor activities of, student organizations based in SB, such as Student Bar Association, law fraternities, etc.; perform related administrative tasks, e.g., elections
- Coordinate posting of syllabi, booklists, past examinations, issue sheets, and model answers, etc. online to the Student Gateway
- Regularly monitor Student Gateway to ensure resources and announcement meet student needs
- Manage, hire, schedule, and coordinate student workers at the Santa Barbara Campus, for on the ground support
- Coordinate room space and access to facilities for Onsite JD Students and Faculty
- Participate in creation, review, and revision of COL documents, forms, and reports, including Program Review Report
- Assist the master's program with messaging to students regarding term starts, syllabi, booklist, grades.
- Track master's students grade progress throughout the term. Communicate with the Dean of the master's program, faculty, and student if grades are below the passing threshold.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computer skills, including proficiently with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Excellent customer service, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm for working independently.
- Ability to recruit and supervise staffing for facility and examination proctoring support.
- Skills in prioritizing assigned daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of related experience
