Certified Nursing Aide assists residents with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks in accordance with Department of Health and Human Services. Report pertinent information to the manager or nurse in charge.

Requirements MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: - Assist residents with completing activities of daily living based on each resident's individual needs
- Document care provided including daily recording of resident vital signs
- Maintain resident safety and report any change in status or condition to appropriate nurse
- Observe residents for changes in condition in mood, behavior, affect, cognition and physical changes and report to nurse in charge and/or manager immediately
- Assist the nurses in identifying the problems, goals and interventions listed in the care plan and update assessment forms accordingly
- Use and adapt to new technologies, including tools, equipment, methods of application, computerized systems and processes, etc., to impact productivity of department and services; keep job-required technical skills up to date
- Collaborate and coordinate with other departments to provide timely effective care consistent with individual resident needs, choices and preferences
- Transport residents to various designations
- Assist with orienting and training new employees
- Ensure quality resident centered care
- Assist dining staff during meal time
- Additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: - Competent to provide nursing and/or nursing related services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Alert, aware and observant of resident needs
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma or equivalency
- Certificate to practice as a Certified Nurse Aide in the State of Virginia in good standing
REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: - Act as an advocate for residents, staff, and others and treats others with respect
