Job Summary
Employees in this position work one on one with students or in a classroom setting to assist students with health needs.
*G-Tube feeding, toileting, feeding for high school aged student
BASIC FUNCTION
Under general supervision, of a certificated administrator or a nurse, to provide assigned health services related to the medical and physical records and needs of students; to perform a variety of first aid, record keeping and clerical duties; and to perform related work as required.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Multi-Media First Aid Certificate
C.P.R. Certificate
Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver's License, may be required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE OF:
First aid techniques and practices, including CPR
Basic medical terminology;
Causes and means of transmission and methods of control of common diseases;
Procedures in promoting health, hygiene and physical well-being;
Modern office equipment and procedures;
Basic English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation;
Telephone etiquette;
Detailed record keeping;
Basic math;
Appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
ABILITY TO:
Administer first aid, including CPR;
Perform duties with a minimum of supervision;
Remain calm in emergency situations;
Analyze situations accurately and make judgments in accordance with policy and procedure and without immediate supervision;
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position. Some medical record keeping or medical assistant experience is desirable.
