Description A NACE (AMPP) Level 3 Senior Coating Inspector (SI) reports directly to the Inspection Manager (IM). The SI is expected to maintain and deepen relationships with customers (new and existing) with the primary goal to meet and exceed quality and service expectations. On an as-needed basis, a SI may provide direct and fluid support to the activities of the IM in the implementation and execution of the CSI Safety and Inspection programs.Depending upon the assignment and specific needs of the company, the SI may provide quality assurance (QA) monitoring of the coating activities of a contractor/sub-contractor on a daily basis or provide quality control (QC) monitoring of the activities of other CSI inspectors. The monitoring of contractors may also be provided on a QC basis, if dictated by a formal contract. The SI may also provide inspection and/or testing on assignments that have been termed by the IM to be critical and/or highly technical.When providing oversight of contractors or other CSI inspectors, the SI ensures that the coating inspection and testing activities on specific projects are performed and completed in accordance with project specifications and contract requirements. The SI is responsible for assuring that all designated inspection hold points established by the project specifications are witnessed and properly verified. The SI implements the policies and requirements of the CSI IIPP and prepares and submits administrative documents and inspection reports in accordance with the CSI Inspection Program. The SI may also complete a QC review of other inspection reports as required or provide guidance to CSI Inspectors In-Training.The SI meets one or more of the following requirements:•Hold a current NACE (AMPP) Level 3 Certification•Hold a high school degree plus at least 6 years' experience as a coating inspector Level 2.•Hold a high school degree plus at least 8 years' experience in the field of inspection and 2 years' experience as a coating inspector Level 2.•Hold an associate degree plus at least 7 years' experience in the field of inspection and one year experience as a coating inspector Level 2.•Hold a bachelor's degree plus at least 5 years' experience in the field of inspection and 6 months' experience as a coating inspector Level 2.AS a benefit, the SI could hold an SSPC Protective Coating Specialist (PCS) certification, SSPC Protective Coating Inspector (PCI) certification, and/or NACE International Coating Inspector Certification. A SI may also be designated by a PCS. The SI's qualifications must at least meet the requirements for a Level III in accordance with ASTM D4537-91 Standard Guide for Establishing Procedures to Qualify and Certify Inspection Personnel for Coating Work in Nuclear Facilities."
