Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Occupational Therapist Discipline: Therapy Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff JOB SUMMARY The Occupational Therapist at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in patient care and rehabilitation. They evaluate and establish treatment plans, ensuring competency in a range of areas such as therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and cognitive skills. This role also involves coordination with other healthcare professionals, adherence to regulations, and making clinical decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes. JOB FUNCTIONS Supervisory: Delegates authority to COTAs and technicians. Provides supervisory visits according to state regulations. Budget: Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies. Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment and equipment. Clinical: Maintains productivity level at department target. Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Occupational Therapy. Remains competent in the following areas: Evaluation. Therapeutic Exercise/Activity. ADL training. Cognitive skills. Wheelchair transfers. Splinting. Modalities as appropriate for OT. Attends and provides continuing education inservices. Serves as mentor for new employees. Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician. Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner. Other: Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes. Regulation: Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes.
