JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Material Handler
Position: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Location: Asheboro
Manager: No
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Schedule: 12 Hour Rotating, 2-2-3, Days and Nights Available
START DATE: 2/01/2025
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Material Handler is accountable for assuring that product of an acceptable quality is properly packaged for shipping & storage. The Material Handler is also responsible for keeping the manufacturing area supplied with raw material, and for maintaining a steady flow of properly packaged and palletized finished products between the warehouse and manufacturing areas conforming to customer requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Movement & preparation of all raw materials and finished product for manufacturing

Assists technician and Inspector Packers when needed

Disposal of waste to proper container and regrind product as required

Prepares finished product for warehouse

Housekeeping and organization of facility

Recordkeeping and documentation for shipping and receiving

Operate all material handling equipment

Replace films on machines and tools as required

All other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Maintain and improve a safe working environment

Participate in problem solving & improvement teams

Maintain proper amount of additive at machine (color, etc.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED
-
Manufacturing experience a plus
-
Forklift experience a plus, but can be trained on the job

Previous plastics experience preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must have good vision and hearing

Must be able to lift 55-60 lbs. at continuous intervals throughout the day

Must have normal dexterity
-
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
-
Requires frequent bending, squatting and twisting motions; ability to climb ladders

Ability to pull finished product and 1000 lb. gaylords of material using pallet jack

Maintain clean & safe work area clear of obstacles and/or scrap product, tools, etc.

Ensure that all safety procedures are followed

Must always use correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is usually in an indoor concrete floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
