Our team of Supply Chain and Logistics experts speaks your language and operates in your world.I am currently recruiting a Senior Category Manager for one of my clients, a specialized distribution company located in Boucherville.
Responsibilities:
- Represents the company on various purchasing group committees, ensuring that strategies and negotiations with suppliers are aligned with the company's overall objectives.- Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers, focusing on opportunities to maximize profitability.- Identify negotiating levers based on market analyses, specific company needs, and direct or indirect categories involved.- Carry out in-depth market research to identify best practices, market trends, as well as opportunities to optimize costs and improve commercial conditions with suppliers.- Use these analyses to make informed decisions during negotiations.- Actively participate in setting up calls for tender for the acquisition of goods and services, defining requirements, creating the necessary documents and conducting comparative analyses of the proposals received.- Ensure rigorous management of the process to guarantee competitiveness and compliance with the company's strategic objectives.- Transmit new commercial agreements, as well as renewals or adjustments during the year, to the Finance Department to ensure data integration in financial systems and monitoring of financial performance.- Ensure optimal management of the life cycle of commercial agreements, including opening, closing, renewing and adjusting contracts according to internal standards.- Participate in the annual evaluation of suppliers, analyzing their performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying areas for improvement to strengthen business relationships.- Actively participate in weekly and monthly reviews of supplier performance and ongoing negotiations.- Ensures continuous monitoring of best practices in its area of expertise, making recommendations for optimizing negotiation processes and supplier relationship management.Skills required:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field- Good knowledge of the Office 365 suite- A minimum of 10 years' experience in contract negotiation in a similar sector- Proficiency in Excel - (advanced)- Knowledge of SAP (an asset)- Knowledge of Power BI (an asset)- Knowledge of retail (an asset)- Bilingualism, French and English (spoken and written) - advanced level due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with unilingual French or English suppliers.
