This is a split clinic position and will provide coverage for both Northside Dialysis Center and Davie Kidney Center.nnSalary range is $17 - $27 per hour, depending on experience, to include various other fac tors.nnPerfect opportunity for healthcare workers, CNAs and Phlebotomists.nnOn the job training of dialysis fundamentals provided.nnPCT / CCHT Responsibilities and Physical Demands:nnIn the Home Training Program:nnGreet Patients.nnAssisting the HT RN with clinic and home visits as directed.nnReinforces Peritoneal Dialysis / Home-Hemodialysis education under supervision of qualified Home Therapies RN.nnSet up of the home hemodialysis machine, PD Cycler and prepares supplies.nnCollect treatment records and review for completion. Notify RN of incomplete / missing records.nnCleaning and prepping treatment room; prepare patient charts.nnPrepare lab tubes, requisitions and assist with lab draw days, both pre and post draw. To include obtaining water samples as directed by the HT RN.nnAssist with exit site care when directed by HT RN.nnClerical Duties as assigned (faxing, mailing, calling, scheduling, filing, assembling/breaking down patient charts, etc.)nnMaintains databases, logs, spreadsheets, and software as directed by HT RN.nnAssists patient with ordering supplies, reminder for upcoming clinic visits, etc. to include maintaining par levels of home-hemodialysis department supplies.nnObtain patient’s vital signs before, during, and after dialysis treatment and appropriately document the medical record.nnDemonstrates knowledge of infection control as related to hand washing, personal protective equipment (PPE) and universal precautions,nnMaintain patient safety and comfort, which may include assisting with personal care needs and activities of daily living.nnResponds appropriately to emergency situations.nnPlease note you will have exposure to blood and needles.nnThis position requires frequent and prolonged periods of standing and bending.nnYou are required to acknowledge the inter-facility coverage policy that supports floating to various clinics during and after your training, if needed.nnEducation Requirements and Position Qualifications:nnCCHT – Clinical Certification Hemodialysis Technician preferred.nnHigh School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.nnBasic computer knowledge required.nnHealthcare experience is preferred but not required.nnContinued employment is dependent on successful completion of the Health Systems Management training program in its entirety.nnOur day ends when patients’ care is completed.nnMust pass the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam within 18 months following the first day of employment.nnMust have or obtain Basic Life Support certification approved by the American Heart Association.nnMust be comfortable working around blood and needles, including cannulation and collecting lab samples.nnExcellent bedside manner and communication skills.nnAlthough not required, any of the following would be nice to have: Board of Nephrology Examiners, Nursing and Technology (BONENT), Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), or Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).nnWhat You Can Expect:nnImprovement: We are consistently striving to improve processes for our patients and teammates.nnRelationships: Build relationships with your patients who are living with end stage renal disease.nnTeam: Build relationships with your patients who are living with end stage renal disease.nnSchedule: You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
