Job Title: Mill MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Mill Machinist to join our team for a day shift position. The ideal candidate will have intermediate to journeyman level CNC mill machining experience and be process-oriented. The role requires a sense of urgency to meet critical deadlines and the ability to adapt to established processes.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC and machining centers to fabricate precision machined metallic and non-metallic parts.Specialize in setting up mill turn sub spindle live tooling lathes with minimal or no supervision.Work closely with Programming and Manufacturing Manager to provide feedback on cycle time reduction and machine optimization.Provide guidance and instruct other machine operators and machinists as assigned.Provide input to programmers and other technical personnel.May be assigned to program CNC machines and machining centers utilizing CAD, CAM software.Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient production and on-time delivery of quality products.Review and study CAD drawings, blueprints, sketches, and other documentation to prepare for machining operations.Set up and operate CNC machining equipment, including loading and downloading CNC programs.Select and secure work holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines.Verify accuracy of machine settings during initial trial runs.Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjust machine controls as required.Prove out CNC programs and provide feedback to the Programming Department.Submit 1st Piece Article to the Inspection Department for verification before continuing production.Log job operations in the ERP system and sign off on job travelers.Design and fabricate tooling, cutters, and fixtures as needed.Monitor and maintain machine coolants, lubricants, and other fluids.Document maintenance tasks performed on machines.Guide and lead machine operators to continue production runs.Provide input for machining factors and CNC program adjustments.Recommend improvement solutions for production efficiency and product quality.Essential SkillsIntermediate to journeyman level CNC mill machining experience.Experience with vertical and horizontal milling.Ability to follow established processes and adapt to new ones.Strong sense of urgency to meet critical deadlines.Proficiency in reading and interpreting CAD drawings, blueprints, and sketches.Experience in setting up and operating various CNC machining equipment.Ability to provide feedback and collaborate with programming and manufacturing teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with 5-axis CNC milling.Knowledge of Mastercam or newer software.Experience with Renishaw probe systems.Experience working with Mazak CNCs is a plus but not required.Willingness to consider candidates with only 4-axis experience.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00•Medical, dental & vision •Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital •401(k) Retirement Plan - Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available •Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents) •Short and long-term disability •Health Spending Account (HSA) •Transportation benefits •Employee Assistance Program •Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave)Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in TUALATIN,OR.Application DeadlineThis position will be accepting applications until Dec 11, 2024.About Aerotek:We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
