Job Description
Position Summary
The Salvation Army Northern Division Noble Corps Maintenance Custodian is responsible for performing cleaning, minor maintenance, and groundskeeping. The Custodian is also responsible for transporting donations and supplies.
$13.65 - 20.48 hr

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)
  • Perform custodial duties to maintain clean, tidy, and sanitary conditions throughout the building. (70%)
  • Load, unload, and drive food/donation deliveries. (10%)
  • Maintain vehicle fleet, including cleaning and scheduling maintenance. (5%)
  • Perform minor repair work to maintain safety and within scope of training/regulations. (5%)
  • Assist with special/seasonal events, including room set up, driving supplies, etc. (5%)
  • Maintain grounds, including snow/ice removal. (5%)
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of custodial experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, possess or be able to obtain within 90 days a DOT Medical Examiners Certificate, and meet MVR requirements.
  • Pass background checks.
Competencies
  • Working knowledge of safe handling of equipment, chemicals, and materials regularly used in basic maintenance and custodial duties.
  • Ability to perform some or all physical tasks including lifting, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, and other custodial duties.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and databases.
Working Conditions
  • Regular physical work including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking, and standing.
  • Must be able to regularly lift 50 pound and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
  • Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Driving/Travel Requirements
Regular local travel by agency or personal vehicle. Rare out-of-area travel.
