Position Summary
A Housekeeper is responsible for all cleaningfunctions to service designated suites and public areas as directed by theExecutive Housekeeper or the Housekeeping Supervisor. They are expected toactively develop and promote superior services skills in working with clients,guests and co-workers.
Position Type and Expected Hours ofWork
This position could be eitherfull-time or part-time. All full-time positions are benefit eligible. Thisposition must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekendsand holidays based on business needs.
Essential Job Functions
•Receives a listof rooms at the start of shift to identify rooms and public spaces to becleaned during shift.
•Completeall pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, guest supplies, cleaningsupplies and linen for housekeeping cart set-up.
•Mustbe capable of utilizing both hands in order to perform such tasks as changingbed linens, scrubbing pots, etc.
•Mustbe capable of reaching overhead to dust, clean the tops of equipment/appliancesand to place items in cupboards.
•Mustbe capable of moving light furniture, (i.e. chairs, tables, etc.) in order toclean under these items.
•Mustpractice safe use of all cleaning agents.
•Mustbe able to follow all safety practices such as wearing personal protectiveequipment, reading chemical warning labels, and other safe work practices.
•Preparehousekeeping cart for the next day's use.
•Removeall trash and dirty linen from guest suites.
•Keepall hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and vacuumed.
•Reportall missing items from rooms (i.e. irons/boards, hair dryers, etc.) toExecutive Housekeeper.
•Mustbe able to use two-way radios, telephones, general office equipment, industrialwasher, dryer, irons, vacuum, floor buffer, wet vac and other housekeepingequipment.
•Ensureproper care of housekeeping equipment and facilities and report all maintenanceas needed.
•Maintainhigh standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliancewith dress code and uniform requirements.
•Maintaina professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
•Mustbe attentive, courteous and efficient in the dealings with guests, managers andall other employees.
•Complywith brand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hoteloperations.
•Establishand maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and otherdepartments within the hotel.
•Exhibithelpful and willing attitude to serve guest requests.
•Communicatewith other hotel staff to accommodate special guest requests.
•Participatein all-employee meetings, events and other functions required by management.
•Befamiliar with all policies, hotel rules and hotel terminology.
•Performany other duties as requested by management.
Work Environment
This position will be located at ahotel and primarily work in guest rooms, hotel facilities and public spaces.

•Frequentlyrequired to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach withhands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, orhear.
•Occasionally liftand/or move up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 100lbs.
•Mustbe capable of bending over, stooping and working on the knees in order toperform such functions as scrubbing commodes, tubs, cleaning tiles and puttingaway items.

Required Education and Experience
•High school diploma or equivalentpreferred.
•Knowledge of hotel, housekeeping andhotel laundry operations required.
•Flexibility to work various shifts,including evenings and weekends.
•Exhibits initiative, responsibilityand flexibility.
•Excellent time management skills.
•Friendly, cooperative manner andpatience in dealing with customers and staff.
•Must be able to communicate clearlyand professionally in English with coworkers, employees, owners, andmanagement, both written and verbally.
