Shuttle Driver P/T M-F 4:30p - 9:30p 25 hrs/wk
- Operates vehicles in accordance with Mass General Brigham policies as well as in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Inspects vehicle at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure operating effectiveness.
- A walk-around inspection of all safety-related items will be included in the inspection.
- Reports any damage or inoperative equipment to the Supervisor or designee immediately.
- Maintains the interior while the vehicle is under operator's control.
- Maintains an accurate log documenting numbers of passengers, number of trips completed, number of items delivered, or other information, which might be requested.
- Conducts him/herself in accordance with all applicable hospital policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
When operating passenger coach or passenger van-type vehicles:
- Transports passengers in a safe and courteous fashion between designated stops on an established route or to and from specific sites as part of a specially arranged trips.
- Ensures the safety and comfort of passengers on the vehicle.
- Assists passengers with disabilities or those needing assistance to board and alight from the vehicle.
- Maintains schedule and established routes.
- Uses discretion to deviate from prescribed routes when environmental conditions and/or special events create traffic congestion (with consultation from External Transportation Dispatch).
- May also be required to transport light cargo, mail, radiology films, medical records, specimens, and other small items between sites when operating a passenger vehicle equipped to carry these items.

- Current valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class B with Airbrakes and passenger endorsement.
- Candidates MUST be 21 years or older, as they will be utilizing Rental Vehicles.
- CANDIDATES MUST fill out a Drivers Record Release Form that allows us to check your driving record.
- Drivers must be willing to obtain a DOT Medical card through Occupational Health.
- Once the DOT card is obtained, you will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing through Occ Health.
- Physical examinations required by CDL regulations (conducted by Occupational Health Service).
- Maintain current training status in the transportation of Hazardous Materials, Uniform Precautions, and Fire and Safety in accordance with Mass General Brigham policies and procedures.
- Reports for duty drug-free and remains drug-free during tour of duty in accordance with hospital policy.
- Good customer service/communication skills.
