Job Description

The Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities within the restaurant. This role includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting the overall guest experience by maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment.

• Communicate regarding any maintenance priorities and status updates. Regularly update your team and leadership on the status of ongoing maintenance tasks, highlighting any urgent issues that need immediate attention
• Train new and existing team members on different functions and ensure they can perform tasks properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity

• Perform maintenance work and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other components efficiently and in order of priority. Utilize diagnostic tools and your technical expertise to identify the root cause of issues, completing repairs swiftly and effectively to minimize downtime.
• Follow a structured PM schedule to perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment. This includes adjusting components, replacing worn parts, and ensuring all systems meet operational standards.
• Conduct daily maintenance checks. Promptly address any issues discovered during these checks to prevent disruptions to service and maintain a safe, comfortable environment for both guests and employees.
• Execute a series of scheduled maintenance tasks each day, from minor repairs to routine inspections, to ensure the facility operates smoothly. Maintain a checklist to track completed tasks and prioritize them based on the needs of the day.
• Perform all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies and procedures. Regularly review and follow the company's safety policies to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Keep work area in a clean and orderly manner while maintaining equipment.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
The facilities technician will interact with the restaurant managers and team members as well as their market managers. The facilities technician will also interact with the vendors assigned to their restaurants. The technician will also periodically interact with and support the construction team for new openings in their territory.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Level/Certifications
• High School or equivalent
• Licensed as a plumber, electrician, or HVAC technician is a plus
Work Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Basic understanding of restaurant equipment and facilities with the ability to quickly learn
  • Ability to maintain basic records and warranties
  • Ability to understand written directions in maintenance and repair manuals and on manufacturer websites
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools including meters for testing
  • Basic knowledge and experience with light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks
• Basic understanding of Service Channel or similar maintenance software is a plus
• Multi-unit experience (e.g. restaurant, retail, hospitality) preferred

Travel Requirement
  • Occasional travel may be required 15%.
