TheInjection Molding Operator 1 is responsible for the quality inspections and packaging of molded components within Injection Molding production lines. Quality inspections are done visually as well as using basic inspection equipment. The operator documents and escalates any defects found. This position is expected to assist with material handling duties as necessary, perform basic quality inspections, and will be expected to identify issues, andcommunicate improvement opportunities. This position is expected to perform and record visual and dimensional part inspections according to print and quality control documentation.

Job Details

Starting- $17-$18 hourly, plus $0.50 shift differential

Monday-Friday, 2nd Shift

Duties
  • Visually inspects components made on Injection Molding Machines, and packages them appropriately based on defined standard work.
  • Packaging duties to include scale counting, printing labels, and preparing completed product per Standard Operating Procedures for production.
  • Fulfills material handling duties for delivery of requested molded components.
  • Generates production paperwork for required production runs based off of schedule board and direction from supervisors or moldroom staff. Maintains all paperwork necessary throughout length of production run.
  • Assist with production line startup, shutdown, and line clearance under guidance of mold setter or supervisor.
  • Performs basic quality inspections of molded components.

  • Follows the company's medical manufacturing quality system per ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines to insure product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Adheres to company safety policies as well as OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Performs multiple ongoing tasks keeping mold machines running productively and within compliance standards.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of any abnormalities with equipment or systems.
  • Operates grinding machine.
  • Helps keep department in compliance with Lean initiatives including 5S.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet the objectives of the facility.

Education Degree
High School Diploma or GED Required Experience
  • Communication: Ability to understand oral and written instruction inEnglish.Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions.
  • Safety rules. Effectively share information between all shifts with co-workers, internal customers, and support personnel.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with problems involving part and equipment variation and make decisions accordingly; has excellent quality aptitude.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to record data and communicate electronically; demonstrates basic computer skills.
  • Mathematical Skills: Cycle counting and use of scales for weight calculations
  • Attendance: Able to maintain good attendance and is available for support on Saturdays and beyond normal working hours.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with people.
  • Ability to read gages (i.e., micrometer, depth gauge, calipers)
