Job Summary:
Escorts hospital and ambulatory patients traveling by wheelchair, stretcher or hydraulic stretcher to their destinations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to)
Complete Daily Disinfection & Tracking Log for each patient that is escorted from one of the Patient Entry Points to their 1st appointment/destination capturing:
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. 1. Sanitize the wheelchair prior to each patient using the Wheelchair "High-Touch" Disinfection/Inspection Protocol
  2. 2. Following the Equipment Checklist for Assisting Patients on and off the wheelchair
  3. 3. Transport each patient in a timely and safe manner to the initial appointment from the Entry Point.
  4. 4. Provide courteous and professional service to all patients and their caregivers that equates to excellent customer service at all times
  5. 5. Ability to follow direction, navigate throughout the campus independently, good communication skills and great demeanor
  6. 6. Push 200 pounds + via a wheelchair
  7. 7. Minimum education: HS diploma
Sanitation Protocols:
  • Sanitize the wheelchair prior to each use, following the Wheelchair "High-Touch" Disinfection/Inspection Protocol.
Patient Assistance:
  • Follow the Equipment Checklist for assisting patients on and off the wheelchair.
  • Transport patients safely and promptly from the Entry Point to their initial appointment.
Customer Service:
  • Provide courteous and professional service to all patients and their caregivers, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Navigation & Communication:
  • Follow directions accurately, navigate the campus independently, and maintain good communication with patients and staff.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to push patients weighing 200 pounds or more in a wheelchair.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Required: High school diploma.
Experience:
  • Required: Minimum of 1 year in patient care and substantial customer service experience.
  • Preferred: Strong customer service skills and ability to safely push patients weighing at least 200 lbs.
