Project Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Cost Control Manager to join our FCC Canada team.
Reports to: Project Controls Director
The Cost Control Lead's key responsibilities are:
- Recognize emerging issues, leverage lessons learned, drive toolset and process adoption, and ensure the accuracy of key project metrics.
- Conducts a detailed review and analysis of project performance control and reporting to understand and articulate key metrics and trends.
- Ensures that tracking and forecasting, progress monitoring, and cost reporting meet specific project requirements.
- Manage detailed financial analysis, ensuring that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate control accounts.
- Ensures the preparation and updating of project cash flows and reports and forecasting as required throughout the project life cycle.
- Directly interfaces with management as necessary for cost control monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Performs cost data analysis and development.
- Performs performance monitoring and coordinates cost, schedule, and quantity trends when required.
- Manage the SAP Finance system.
- Supervise the implementation of work breakdown and project coding structures for the control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the project agreement.
- Oversees and supports project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Identifies commercial risks and develops mitigation measures to ensure project control deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for project control improvement for management review and consideration.
- Contribute to the risk mitigation plan.
- Hire, supervise, coach, develop, and mentor project control personnel.

Education and Qualifications
- 15 years of experience in construction, with at least 10 years of experience in Cost Control.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven ability to effectively lead Cost Control staff.
- Proven strong analytical skills.
- Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and articulate issues.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Detail-oriented and customer-focused.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Requirements
- Experience with progressive delivery models is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of "Earned Value Management" principles.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes and an understanding of controller instructions, which impact project controls (including project financial status reports and earned revenue determination data).
- Proven experience and ability in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control.
- Experience with ERP systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of SAP and required project control software, which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, and/or Accubid.
- Accreditation from AACEI or CIQS is an asset.
