Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.nnBASIC PURPOSEnnThe purpose of this maintenance position is to provide support and assistance in all areas of general maintenance and repair of the Camp’s buildings, grounds, equipment and other facilities consistent with the mission and established policies and procedures of the Camp. This includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs and the responsibility to recommend major repairs to the Camp Director for the buildings, property, and equipment of The Salvation Army. Perform set ups and take downs of furniture and other equipment for various campus activities.nnESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESnnMaintenance/LandscapingnnMaintain the Camp grounds by operating necessary grounds care equipment such as mower, tractor, chain saws, weed eater etc., in a safe and efficient manner.nnWork with Divisional Construction Manager on large projects.nnLock and secure all equipment when not in use.nnBe aware and make necessary changes to hazards found on campground.nnCheck all areas of Camp that may need repairs weekly. All aspects include: landscape, trail blazing, water lines – copper, PVC and galvanized, HVAC, electrical, framing, fencing, roofing, painting and staining.nnMaintain Camp propane fill station (training certificate required).nnPerform janitorial and general maintenance duties in building areas designated (sweep, scrub, wax floors, wash windows and screens, pressure wash, etc.).nnDispose of trash and waste from Camp facilities and campground daily.nnPerform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines, including local, state, and federal guidelines, as well as American Camp Association accreditation standards.nnMaintain and re-certify all fire extinguishers each year to pass fire marshal inspection.nnObtain estimate bids and schedule outside contractors to fix issues outside of experience: window glaziers, appliance repairs and coffee machine repairs, etc.nnMaintain/repair all vehicles including: brakes, rotors, charging system, CV axles, etc.nnMaintain vehicle logs to track repairs and service done to each vehicle.nnSet up, maintain and shutdown pool at appropriate times.nnGeneral maintenance job assignments given by the Camp Director such as: electrical work, carpentry, plumbing, general clean up, mowing, and weed eating.nnKeep Camp maintenance shop area clean.nnSet up and tear down meeting spaces depending on guest group needs.nnKeep inventory of all tools and supplies. Notify Camp Director when something is needed or missing.nnWear and use appropriate safety equipment for the job (ex. safety glasses when working with carpentry, as well as safety glasses, ear plugs & chaps when using weed eaters).nnBe prompt and conscientious at every job assignment and always be aware of safety factors involved in the task at hand.nnClean work area after each workday and after the job is completed.nnAny other duties as assigned.nnGroup HostingnnALWAYS BE AVAILABLE and let the guest staff know where you can be found.nnCheck with the guest staff periodically to see if they need any assistance with anything.nnFix and repair problems in as timely a manner as possible.nnLet the guest staff know when a problem has been repaired or what action is being taken to address the problem.nnMonitor the guest group’s schedule for any special request items.nnCheck voice mail on phone and deliver any messages received for the guest group.nn11:00 pm make rounds and turn off lights in areas not being used. If still in use, remind the group of the “last one out” policy.nnBuild a fire at the campfire pit, if requested.nnLocate sports equipment.nnPrepare and return TSA statistic forms in a timely fashion to the Office Manager.nnBe flexible and accommodating. Our ministry and reputation is based on providing consistent quality service. Do whatever you can, within reason, to make sure the guest group is taken care of.nnPhysical Requirements and Work Experience:nnThe position requires frequent lifting of 50 pounds or more. This position requires good mobility with the ability to climb, crawl, bend and have good dexterity in regard to grasping, reaching, and handling.nnThe job is primarily performed outside in the elements, regardless of weather.nnThe ability to operate indoor cleaning machines (i.e., vacuum, buffer) and grounds keeping equipment (i.e., lawn mower, edger, blower).nnMust have experience in several of the following areas:nnGround keeping.nnUtility systems (water, sewer, electrical, HVAC).nnPainting, carpentry, drywall repair, electrical work, plumbing fixtures, repair & appliance installation.nnOperation of chain saws and wood splitting equipment; heavy equipmentnnQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
