Job Description

Manage complex inpatient volume of 16-20 patients or if ICU trained with 10-12 patients mostly on ventilators

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • n
  • Must be board certified / board eligible in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology and Critical Care
  • n
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • n
  • Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

Heavily needed between 4/1/20 and 5/31/20, 12 hr shifts, 40-50 hrs per week.

The VA requests providers available to start no later than April 13.

Required Skills

DUE TO THE CRISIS WE ARE FLEXIBLE WITH STATE LICENSURE AND WORK AVAILABILITY. WE WILL ACCEPT ANY STATE LICENSE AND CONSIDER FULL TIME, PART TIME, AND PRN SHIFTS.

  • Retain an active, full and unrestricted medical license in any State, Territory or Commonwealth in the US and District of Columbia.
  • n
  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine or board eligible within four (4) years of residency completion 
  • n
  • Current and unrestricted DEA.
  • n
  • Retain BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • n
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques in accordance with the community and VA standards of practice.
  • n
  • Knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, including desired effects, side effects, complications, and patient usage considerations.
  • n
  • Experience with safe and reasonable practices regarding opioid medications for chronic musculoskeletal pain
  • n
  • Knowledge of the basic concepts of customer service technique related to age-specific population.
  • n
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language along with proper telephone etiquette.
  • n
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and computer maneuverability including experience with electronic medical records systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

  • Required to respond to any medical emergency within the clinic, where a fast walk or job may be necessary to provide assistance.
