Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse located at Chester County Obstetrics and Gynecology in West Chester, PA. Hours: Mon - Thru 7:30-4:30pm Friday 7:30 - 3pm and one closing shift 11:30-7pm. As a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Chester County OB/GYN office, your job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate and assess patient's health care needs based on patient's signs and symptoms utilizing established triage protocols and guidelines.
- Obtain appropriate input and direction from the provider, as needed, to determine best clinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient health care.
- Accurately document symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided and patient/caller response in EMR. Follow policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as improve health care outcomes of patients/callers and their access to appropriate health.
Patient Care: - Maintain patient records by accurately recording medical history, vital statistics, etc., and scanning related documents.
- Checking schedules and organizing patient flow to help minimize wait time and efficiently communications delays to patients.
- Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room and assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens and preparing for exam.
- Collecting patient history and assisting Provider with various procedures and screenings.
- Relaying instructions to patients/families and providing pertinent information.
Patient Records: - Sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab/X-ray reports and hospital notes to provide Provider with complete patient history
- Completing forms/requisitions as needed to ensure patient records are accurate and claims can be properly billed.
- Adheres to Patient Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.
Quality Control and OSHA: - Setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols, cleaning exam/procedure rooms and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control, maintaining and cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program, and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
- Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and standardized quality control methods to provide the highest quality of patient care.
Qualified candidates will have experience as a License Practical Nurse, a degree from an accredited nursing program, a current Pennsylvania license as a Registered Nurse, CPR certification, and a minimum of 1 year experience working in a medical facility, preferably in an OB/GYN setting. Knowledge of CPT coding, lab specific order sets, and eClinicalWorks are beneficial.
