Req Number 144039nnPerforms various aspects of patient care within assigned patient care unit under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.nnResponsibilities:nnAdministers general nursing care to ambulatory patients in an assigned area under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.nnParticipates with the Primary Nurse and Nursing Care Coordinator in planning and coordinating patient care.nnFollows the direction and guidance of the Primary Nurse in implementing the nursing process.nnReports and records results of nursing care and makes all significant information known immediately to Primary Nurse and/or Nursing Care Coordinator.nnPerforms treatments and procedures as assigned by a Registered Nurse.nnEstablishes good interpersonal relations with patients, families, and hospital personnel.nnMust have knowledge of usual dosages, side effects, and reactions to medications patients are receiving, and is able to administer oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications, except for experimental drugs.nnMay administer narcotics orally or intramuscularly except on pediatrics, newborn nursery, and premature nursery.nnPerforms related duties, as required.nnQualifications:nnHigh School Diploma or equivalent, required.nnGraduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.nnLicensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State and /or Connecticut, required.nnAbility to communicate effectively.nn*Additional Salary DetailnnThe salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
