Our goal is to enable each and every individual to reach his/her maximum potential in the least restrictive environment by selecting and promoting educational practices that are grounded in research and science, in particular applied behavior analysis; and, to assist each individual with identifying and realizing his/her own goals.nnJob Responsibilities (Occupational Therapist):nnGeneral Responsibilities:nnProvide appropriate treatment to school age children as outlined in the IEP goals and directives.nnProvide ongoing classroom communication with the teachers as well as the parents in regards to child’s progress and assist in home program implementation.nnActs as OT department liaison with institutes of higher education, for whom we are providing clinical training.nnResponsibilities: The Occupational Therapist provides direct treatment of a minimum of 50 sessions per week at the School Age levelnnDaily completion and monthly completion of session notes for Occupational Therapy (OT) department.nnMonthly updates and monitoring of OT attendance cards/databases.nnThe Occupational Therapist coordinates completion and collection of all OT reports, goals, and regression summariesnnThe Occupational Therapist ensures all paperwork in compliance with all regulatory agencies.nnInstructional Programming/curriculum development to address OT needs of School Age students.nnThe Occupational Therapist assists in researching and ordering new equipment and supplies.nnThe Occupational Therapist attends parent and staff meetings and in-services offered by Hawthorne Country Day.nnConduct OT evaluations for students when requested by School Age Coordinator and School District(s).nnThe Occupational Therapist complies with on NYSED, DOH and HCDS paperwork requirements and IEP DirectnnComplies with documentation requirements (including physician recommendations/ prescriptions)nnComplies with all NYSED, DOH requirements/auditsnnEnsuring Medicaid compliancennThe Occupational Therapist attends required trainings to ensure compliance with current requirements by NYSED, DOH, Medicaid and HCDSnnThe Occupational Therapist prepares closed files for storage at the end of each school year and summernnTake necessary courses/workshops to maintain OT licensure.nnMEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION BENEFITS *RETIREMENT PLAN EDUCATION INCENTIVES LIFE INSURANCE/AD&D 403B PLANS *PAID VACATION, HOLIDAY & SICK TIME FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES.nnEOEnnJob Type: Full-time/Part-timennRequired education: Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from a nationally accredited college or university.nnRequired experience (if applicable): Experience with children with Autism/PDD and other developmental disabilities.nnRequired license or certification (if applicable): New York State Licensed Occupational TherapistnnOther qualifications:nn-Must meet Medicaid eligibility standardsnn-Willingness to complete Personalized System of Instruction (PSI) training modules in a timely manner.nn-An ability and willingness to provide direct occupational therapy services to students with disabilities.Salary: $73,314- $85,107 Yr.
