This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Campus and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science is dedicated to creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all. The School focuses on health, diversity, inclusion, and social equity in everything we do. We believe this starts in the workplace, where we actively strive to ensure a sense of belonging for everyone and honor the idea that through our differences, we are better together. In working to fulfill that vision, we are comprised of more than 125 primary appointed faculty and academics, 200 staff members, and 25 secondary appointed faculty and provide mentorship and instruction to 700+ BSPH undergraduate major students and 225+ postgraduate students across six degree programs as well as a clinical residency. We conduct research and instruction in public health disciplines such as Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Climate & Environmental Health, Community Health Services & Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Behavior, Health Equity & Justice, Health Policy, Public Mental Health & Substance Use, and Technology & Precision Health, totaling ~$125M in grants and contracts and house five research service cores. We engage in research and teaching collaborations across the University and the community at-large. Partnerships with the community and with health agencies are fundamental to the School.

The Program Evaluation Specialist will provide a wide range of program evaluation, survey research, and field research services. Under direct supervision and guidance from senior researchers, the incumbent will engage in a variety of public health research projects, including behavioral health and mental health evaluations. This position is essential in coordinating survey data collection, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, and ensuring the success of research protocols and partnerships.

Under direct guidance of senior researcher, applies acquired skills and knowledge of applicable research discipline to support field research projects of small to medium size and intermediate scope and complexity, including but not limited to research in environmental, public health, social or biological science disciplines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two (2) years of relevant experience in program evaluation, public health research, or behavioral health studies.

  • Working knowledge of safety, legal, cultural and regulatory requirements relative to field research responsibility.

  • Working knowledge of research discipline, principles, concepts, analysis and / or operations being conducted at field/remote sites.

  • Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with remote research partners.

  • Demonstrates ability to work with a team, and to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate across multiple teams. Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining research documentation and project timelines.

  • Demonstrates ability to work in ambiguous conditions.

  • Proficient research and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated communication skills with project team members. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

  • Strong working knowledge of data collection methods, survey research, and program evaluation protocols.

  • Experience presenting engaging and clear data presentations using tools such as PowerPoint and Canva that effectively communicate data and program outcomes.

  • Proficiency with quantitative data analysis and visualization tools such as SPSS, SAS, Qualtrics, and Excel.

  • Working knowledge of local customs and operations at field/remote sites.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Public Health, Applied Psychology or related field preferred.

  • Experience in behavioral health and mental health outcome measurements is highly preferred.

  • Experience with one or more of the following: R, Power BI, Telerik, Tableau, or another similar application.

  • Experience with SQL for database querying, data management, and creating and optimizing queries, stored procedures, and functions.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $58,600 - $100,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.07 - $48.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
