Some of the most common procedures performed by the nursing staff in the MICU include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubations, and central line placement.nnA caregiver in this position works Nights, from 7:00pm-7:30am.nnA caregiver who excels in this role will:nnProvide direct nursing care.nnImplement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.nnMonitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.nnAdminister prescribed medications and treatments.nnNote and carry out physician and nursing orders.nnAssess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.nnEducate patients and their families.nnMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnGraduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.nnCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).nnOne-year of current acute care RN experience.
