Community Options, Inc.  is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. 
We are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist  in Wayne or Hillsborough, NJ . The Occupational Therapist provides quality occupational therapy services for patients through functional evaluation and treatments of individuals utilizing a variety of techniques including: activities of daily living, fabrication and application of splints, sensory motor activities. This position requires travel between Hillsborough and Wayne New Jersey Programs.    Responsibilities
  • Screens and identifies individuals who may have problems in occupational performance.
  • Evaluates the individual’s performance according to the Uniform Occupational Therapy Checklist.
  • Develops individual occupational therapy program indicating short and long-term goals.
  • Elects media, methods, environment, and personnel needs to accomplish goals.
  • Determines frequency and duration of occupational therapy services.
  • Formulates and implements the program according to the program plan.
  • Documents therapy services provided, and the client’s occupational performance.
  • Discharges clients when they have achieved the established goals and received maximum benefit from the services.
  • Periodically and systematically reviews all aspects of the individual occupational therapy program for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with client, family, and other professional and community resources.
  • May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff 
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned 
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation 
  Minimum Requirements    
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensed by the State Board of Examiners in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with the American Occupational Therapy Association and NBOTA.
  • Ability to interact with patients, doctors and other personnel.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and use common sense.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with a person receiving supports.
  • Ability to read and write English.
