Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our well-established team of ten physicians and eight advanced practice providers (APPs) at the University of New Mexico Hospital.
  • Work alongside a unique group of clinicians with diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds.
  • We work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a seamless transition of care.

Qualifications:

  • A medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Candidates must be board-certified/eligible in internal medicine or family medicine.
  • The ability to handle complex medical and social scenarios is essential.
  • A patient-centered, compassionate mindset is a must.
  • An active medical license in Texas or eligibility to obtain one is required.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • J1 Visa sponsorship may be offered.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Flexible Scheduling:

  • We offer various flexible scheduling options to promote a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive medical and post-operative patient care.
  • Utilize Cerner EMR systems and Sound's internal informatics platform.
  • Support the rapid response team and attend codes as a courtesy run by the ICU team.
  • The hospital has a closed ICU, and our hospitalist team is not responsible for procedures.

  • Compensation: Compensation ranges from $1,829 (day) to $2,109 (night) per shift. We also offer quality and productivity incentives.
