We seek a dynamic and experienced Director of Accounting to join our fast-paced healthcare-related company. This role will involve the overall management and direction of our accounting functions. You will play a crucial role in providing financial leadership and will work closely with senior management to contribute to our company's financial strategy. This is a permanent role that offers an excellent opportunity for leadership, growth, and the ability to shape the company's financial future.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and oversee the company's accounting systems, including monthly closing of the books and publishing financials.
- Supervise accounts payables, accounts receivable, general accounting, insurance, and external Audits.
- Review and control operational expenses to ensure appropriateness and cost reasonableness.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, and create controls as needed.
- Ensure compliance with various state and federal filing and reporting requirements.
- Interact with external accountants to provide data needed for reviewed/audited financials, as well as perpetual tax planning.
- Build and maintain financial reporting systems for the VP, Corporate Accounting, and CFO.
- Assess and maintain appropriate levels of business insurance.
- Monitor and confirm the company's financial condition by conducting financial analytics.
- Comply with new accounting regulations, conduct a review of new accounting requirements, and document the company’s accounting positions.
- Support internal departments by providing timely responses to financial reporting and other miscellaneous requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the Tech Services industry.
- Proficient in administering accounting systems and overseeing all accounting functions.
- Demonstrated ability to review and control operational expenses.
- Experience with state and federal filing and reporting requirements.
- Ability to build and maintain financial reporting systems.
- Experience in assessing and maintaining appropriate levels of business insurance.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor and confirm the company's financial condition.
- Familiarity with new accounting regulations and ability to document the company’s accounting positions.
- Excellent communication skills to support internal departments with financial reporting and other requests.
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing a team.
- Proficiency with accounting software and digital tools.
