Job Description

Transports patients to and from various units as directed, safely and comfortably. Picks up and delivers materials and/or equipment as needed.

Job Responsibility

  • * Transports patients in wheel chairs or on stretchers to and from various units as directed.
    • Responds to page promptly.
    • Uses proper body mechanics during transfer and transport.
    • Transports patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, as directed.
    • Notifies staff upon arrival of patients.
    • Reports any changes of patient's condition during transport to charge nurse.
    • Ensures proper height is kept on I.V set-up when transporting patient.
  • * Promotes and maintains cleanliness and effective functioning of transport equipment.
    • Reports defective wheelchairs and stretchers to Supervisor.
    • Cleans transportation equipment.
  • * Picks up and delivers materials as directed within the Hospital promptly and accurately.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical setting, preferred.

Good communication skills-fluent in English.

Physical demand are constant walking, standing, stooping, bending, turning, lifting; Frequent stretching, pulling, pushing; Occasional sitting.
